Last week, I was assigned to make a presentation during the launching of our company's project. As a matter of habit, I dig the internet for some wise and enlightening quotation as an "opening and teaser". Then I found Lao-Tzu's quotations. I was shocked! It was like finding a treasure. I dig, dig and dig more. I realize Its not just a treasure that I found, I found a "Way of Life"!
It took me days to read and re-read the book of Lao-Tzu entitled "Tao Te Ching" which means "The Way (truth) of Value Classics". I need to read complimentary writings to understand more. I have never read a book like it before. The closest thing to it is the Bible, except that its only made of 81 chapters in a from of poems. The Bible has 66 books plus the books ommitted on purpose.
As I read the Tao Te Ching, I could almost hear the gods whispering to my ears. The words were so deep and mysterious, yet full of truth. They were so vague and indirect yet pure and enlightening. All meat, all wisdom and nothing fancy.
Lao-tzu wrote the verses with great humility yet full of authority. He used words and phrases with magic by describing the Tao or The way or God in a most balanced and comprehensive way.
Lao-tzu is simply telling that the Tao or God is everything. Not good, not bad, but both. Not light, not Darkness, but both. The best way to embrace the Tao is not to take sides but being open, neutral and full of humility.
If I die today, Im not afraid. (Charr!) Because I now understand that I am something, and therefore part of everything. And God is Everything. Therefore nothing to be afraid of. No hell or heaven. No right or wrong. No light and darkness. Just an acceptance that I am part of a one big truth or God, if you may.
Unya, nakasabot mo? Kung wala okay lang. Gigutom ra gyud paabot dire Airport. 7pm pa daw flight.
But seriously, try reading Tao Te Ching in English version. You may find gold in it.
